Frequently Asked Questions 🐾

What are the requirements to join your off-leash adventure walks?

In order to join off-leash adventures, your pup must:

  • have a city of Toronto pet license

  • be up to date on vaccinations

  • have at least some practice with recall in order to be off-leash (we will also work on this)

  • display non-aggressive behaviour around other dogs & humans

  • be at least 5 months old & spayed/neutered (or scheduled to be spayed/neutered soon)

Should I send my dog with anything on his/her walk?

Nope! I bring my own leashes, poop bags, treats, and anything else your pup will need. The only thing I would suggest is to send your pup wearing his/her collar and harness or halti.

Do you give the dogs treats on walks?

Yes! Mira’s Mutts provides 100% beef liver treats. If your dog has any allergies or if you would prefer I hold off on the treats, you can let me know when you fill out your new client waiver.

How will I pay for my dog’s walks?

Mira’s Mutts will send an invoice to your email for every 2 weeks of services. Payment by cash, cheque or e-transfer is accepted.

What if I need to cancel?

No worries! I understand that stuff happens- you will not be charged for any cancellations with 24 hours of notice. If you need to cancel with less notice, I will do my best to accommodate extenuating circumstances.

How do you organize groups for walks?

Your pup will have a 1-week trial with us to determine which group of doggos is the best for them to walk with.

What type of training do you use on walks?

Mira’s Mutts uses positive reinforcement and force/fear-free training methods on walks. We do not use prong collars, choke chains or other aversive tools.
